Last week, the Presidential candidates held a quasi-debate with a religious pastor in Southern California. The pastor asked them both a series of questions about several different topics both religious and non-religious. This is not something new to American politics as candidates often tout their religious fealty in order to gain votes. However the constitution specifically forbids a religious test in order to gain office and the bill of rights guarantees us freedom of religion. Not only that, but the separation of church and state suggests that there should be no state sponsored religion.
Consider and discuss the questions below:
Many argue that freedom of religiong means freedom from religion. In other words, when the government and religion mix, it is both dangerous and often excludes non-christian religions and non-believers. Others argue that this government was founded by Christian beliefs and that christians are the majority therefore, the government should acknowledge and celebrate christian holidays, beliefs, and values. What does freedom of religion mean when it comes to the government?
Consider these ideas as well:
1. During the presidential primaries, Mitt Romney, a Mormon, felt the need to prove his christian beliefs by holding a press conference to address his religion. It echoed a similar speech by John F. Kennedy in the 1960's who felt he had to prove he wasn't tied to the Catholic pope.
2. The idea that since the majority of people are christian therefore the government should be too might be a bad precedent as both English and French christians are quickly becoming the minority in their countries as muslim immigrants have become the majority.
3. Many students at Del Oro are non-christian, but the school schedule is built around some major christian holidays such as christmas and easter. How does this exclude them? Consider that Muslim students don't get to eat or drink during the month of ramadan (october during daylight which means they are extremely tired during the school day as they can only eat at night) or Jewish students who don't get days off for their holiest holidays.

People come to amreica to be free and being free means they can believe in wat ever they want to believe in. If people dont like the way how its more towards one belief then they should say something or they can leave. No one is forcing them to stay here and its there choice.
I think the government should keep the government and religion separate. If u look through history allot of civilizations have fallen because they did not keep religion and government separate. Our country is very diverse so it is hard to please everyone’s holidays. If religion is separated from government they can’t worry about when religions have holidays but they should make holidays around all major religious holidays. The government says that church and state are separated but we still swear in on a bible during testimony and it still says in god we trust behind all of the judges. I think our country still has some changes to make to completely separate church from state but I don’t think it will ever completely happen
The separation between Church and State was created to protect the Church from the state. Our founding Fathers believed that the Government would get involved in the church. Due to the fact the majority of our founding fathers was Christian and wrote the Constitution based on Christian guide lines they created the separation between church and state. It wasn’t created to keep the church out of the state. It was intended that religion would have an influence in the government because of it moral values.
Religious freedom means that you can worship or not worship what ever you want. It doesn’t mean that you have the write to infringe on other religions (especially the one that this country was founded) on or create havoc (muslims).

I am a christian, so i am glad that we have most of our holidays are recognized by our govornment. However i do feel that it is unfair to other major religions that their holidays go unoticed. this said, most christian holidays have been adopted and change quite a bit, christmas for example was originally about the birth of a baby, now it is centered mostly around Santa giving people presents.
Having the ten commandments in a court room is a little too far, people who are of other religions dont hold themselves to the ten commandments, and having them in a court room may offend them.

I agree with the whole, "freedom of religion means freedom FROM religion." If the people in the government are christian, then cool. Freedom of religion is one of the best things that happend to this country i think. If your christian or catholic, muslim, jewish, GOOD, but keep that between you and those who believe the same things. Dont make a controversy over it and try to bring it around people who dont believe what you do. government and religion SHOULD DEFINATELY not mix
Freedom of religion to the government means people should be able to believe what they want and follow who they want, I believe christian holidays shouldnt be a factor because christmas, easter ect. have been around for centurys and most people have always celebrated christmas, even non-believers, just because your not christian doesnt mean you cant celebrate a holiday, non-christians do it all the time. My conclusion is that non-believers of christianity and christians should be able to believe/celebrate what they want and just not make a big deal out of it, same goes for the pledge of allegients, people are starting to say we should take "under God" out but i think thats ridiculous, im christian and I believe under God is important to say but if you dont believe it should be said then dont say it, its your choice. I think our freedom in America gives us the rights to say anything we want to say, and not take away our rights.

I dont think the govenerment should make people believe in something they dont want to. America is a free country, a country where people come to practice what they want in religion. Freedom on religion can open doors to anyone. They can practice different religions if they want to, they dont have to stay to one.
freedom of religion to the government means that when someone believe something they should be able to follow it. The government should allow the believers to practice their religion. sense chrismas is a christian holiday the government should allow the christians to celibrate it by giving them those special holidays off. If you arent christian and dont believe in celebrating christmas the non believers may do what they wish and dont have to follow the christians. people may think that we should take god out of the pledge of allegients but whats the need? if you dont believe in god then you dont have to say it. Its their choice to say "under god" or not. it has been the same for a long time and should not be changed. Just because someone is religious it does not mean that everyone needs to follw them. your religion should not be tied down to people with importance. Everyone is allowed to believe what they want and everyone should also respect what everyone believes. -corynn
When our country was founded it was founded by people with Christian beliefs. Our country has always been a majorty of Christians. In schools we base our breaks on Christian based holidays, excluding the holy days of other religeons. But when this matter comes to the government it should not concern any religeons. When people run for president they try to get a majority vote by leaning twords a religeon. That is wrong. Our government should not have anything to do with religeon. And should not take advantage of a religeon to help themselves. Although, the majority of the country is Christian therefore it makes sense to make the school holidays based around that majority. I think there should be a law that allows students in school to be able to take time off to celebrate their religeon. Religeon has, and always will be a hot topic that people have to take into consideration.
I don't think that the government should acknowledge the Christian holidays and things in that nature because then people from another religion won't be celebrating the same cause on that day because it's not there beliefs. If our government is acknowledging the Christian holidays and giving people days off, then it should be the same for every other religions holidays.
The situation with the "GOD" thing on dollar bills, on the coins, in the Pledge of Allegiance, say that it should be removed from these articles because not everybody is Christian and not everybody believes in god, isn't our fault. More than the majority of America is under the Christian religion and beliefs, so the people that aren't should just not acknowledge the "GOD" on and in these articles because in there countries or where ever have there own things on there.
-Antonio Gutierrez
i dont think that freedom of religion means really anything to the government. the government is catering to the christian faith anyway. celebrating christmas, easter, and thanksgiving are all signs of favortism and they shouldnt be showing it, however, the president should be able to honor his own faith without controversy. for instance, putting up a christmas tree at christmas time. he could easily put it inside of the white house to not offend any other religion. if the government wants to celebrate holidays during the year they should look into the celebration of all the holidays for every religion.
nicole wilson, block 1
I guess I think that ,well, in a way the government should just mind their own buisness. if people want to celebrate holidays they should but if they don't wanna then that's there own choice. Yes, it's kind of wierd but what ever. I like to have a christmas tree in my house just because it gets you in the spirit uf Christmas and makes you all excited and stuff.
Some people believe separation of state and religion means freedom FROM religion instead of freedom OF religion. This nation was founded by a religious people who wanted to be able to worship how they wished and not be forced to belong to a single denomination. America does a great job of being accepting of other's beliefs. Our government does not tell us what to believe. We as a people vote on who we want to represent us as single states and as a country. Taking "under God" out of the pledge of allegiance and "In God we trust" off of dollar bills is taking part of our history. This nation was founded under God for the purpose of freedom OF religion not freedom FROM religion.-Mikaela block 1
most governments dont believe in any religion so it means nothing to them but if the government stay just with on believe(religion) everyone would be fighting and there would be no peace in the government so what i think if you any religion at all beleive in it how you have been and talk to anyone you want to know about it but the government should stay out of it because if they dont all its going to cause is conflicts
-miss i dont know my name :)
In America, you are allowed to practice any form of religion as you want. This is how it should stay. The pilgrims came over to America because they wanted religious freedom from the king. Our country was formed over the freedom of religion. People complain about having school over their religious holidays when other religions have theirs off. If we gave another religion their holidays off, then one more religion will go out and complain. And we can't take school off for all the religious holidays.
People complain about the president putting up a Christmas tree in the white house. Why can't he? He lives there doesn't he? It's the same as any other person putting a tree up in their home. If the president was Buddhist then he would probably put up a statue of Buddha. It's not the government supporting a certain religion. It's the president practicing his religion.
I believe that either way, whether we take religion out of the government or leave it, no one will ever agree on one thing. So if we leave it, there will be people who are happy and people that are upset and disagree. If we take it out there will still be people that aren't happy and people that are. Then again not everyone is Christian and freedom of religion means people have a choice to choose there religion. I think the small issues like the holidays that are taken off in school and so on should not be an issue there is nothing wrong with that. If they don't celebrate that holiday then they just get a break off school no one is forcing them to celebrate and what not. I think more large matters should not be decided based on religion
I think that the schedual that we have now is perfectly good. There is nothing to change the people that it does not acommadate too bad for you. I feel keep church a chruch and when your a school try to focus on your education!
i think that all religons should have a different schedule, then just having everybody one the same one. We get to celebrate all our holidays such as Christmas, the New Year, Veterans Day, 4th of July and some other so why should the Jewish students or the people with other religions get to celebrate the ones that they are intitled to? If we did have a different schedule it would hurt any because no matter what there would still be the same amount of kids going to Del Oro High School, just they'd be going at different times.
In all honesty we have used the same excuse to this day the reason we have all the issues with the subject of religion is because we all have our different views on the topic some say the government is too harsh in that they support Christianity and only that we all can see how this may be true look at our school holiday schedules we only really get Christian based holidays off rather than the ability to stand up and say hey I’m Chinese and I believe in Buddhism try representing that to a principle and seeing how far that goes trying to negotiate and make a compromise as far as religion is concerned. Aside from that though I don’t see why exactly our country makes such a great controversy on religion god is something you can see touch smell taste etc. so why exactly do we spend most of out time on this earth trying to argue whether or not we should have certain holidays off? To make everyone a little less stressed out why don’t we just give all the religious holidays off? Shortage in time spent in schools? Well then let’s just go year round. More drop outs? You have to give a little to get a little (not to change the subject). As far as I’m concerned we should all leave religions out of school state and country, because I believe once we involve all of that you get fights arguments and unsatisfied people. You can’t please everyone but you can only try to make this world work moderately better.

We base or school days around the Christian belief because the Government bases their schedule around the Christian calendar it is not to exclude anyone in particular but so that there are no problems with parents and their jobs because most jobs base there schedule around the Christian calendar. Now also if we take more days off we have to make more days up, and if we have to have more school it means that we have to cut our summers shorter and make our vacations shorter. If we take away breaks the kids will be upset. A great way to show this is how the white house puts up a Christmas tree in the white house. Just because they put up a Christmas tree in the white house it doesn’t mean that they are favoring one set or one certain set of people its that they are recognizing that most people have Christmas trees in their homes even if they don’t believe in Jesus Christ. They celebrate it because most people are and they don’t want their children to be separate in school or miss out. Most people don’t want to be separate so they celebrate with everyone else so that they don’t feel any different they don’t want to be brought out and persecuted for their own beliefs that’s why there are only a select few who believe that the Christmas tree, God taken out of the Pledge of Allegiance and other personal spiritual thing are wanted out. These people are outstanding for showing their own differences, but that’s like saying should we ruin Santa Claus for children, NO so why change what has worked for centuries. Don’t try and fix a car that isn’t broken, it only leads to problems in the future.

To me, freedom of religion means that we are all able to pratice and believe in you're religion of choice. I believe that you should also be able to celebrate your religon's holidays. Now if you do not beleive in any sort of religion, and it really bugs you, you should not have to celebrate the holidays of that religion.
However, in a school situation, I think that we should compromise with the holidays, because if we celebrate everyone's holidays at school, we wont be having very many school days, and if individuals celebrate holidays, then people are going to be missing out on important info in school. Now by compromising, I mean we should celebrate some Christian, Jewish, and anyother religons holidays as a whole. Now the key word here is "some" not all.
Now as far as religion and the government mix, I believe that people in the government are free to believe what they want as well, because that would be messing with their freedom of religion. However, I don't think that people in the government should try to influence people to believe in their religion.
I feel that we should keep the christianity in the government (in god we trust, one nation undergod, etc.) because thats part of american history. Our nation was founded of that religion. And if the president wants to have a christmas tree in the white house... so be it because that is what he believes in. If the president was Buddist, he should have a little buddah statue in the white house, i would not judge him because that is what he believes in.
So to sum it up, freedom of religion means that you are able to believe in what you want without critism. And if you're an athiest, then you can just not say the "under god" in the plege of alegience and no one will think less of you. That freedom of religion in my book.
-Brian Hess-
The government shouldn't acknowledge any one religion over another although it is hard to determine where the line stands between the two. This is a big controversy in the United States and even though Christians make up a big part of this contry, the government should make it as equal as possible by trying to include eother religions. As far as taking God out of the Pledge of Allegiance, I think that's silly because it has been like that ever since our country was founded. However, our country is all about freedom and freedom of religion so it wouldn't be right for the government to single out christianity and only celebrate those holidays in the white house and in schools. Out of respect for other people, I also don't think schools should name the breaks like "Christmas break" but could change it to something more general like "Winter break." Also, if the schools are going to allow time off for Christmas, which christians celebrate, then they should also allow time off for holidays in which other religions celebrate too.
They should move all of the radical muslims to the Middle East because all of the European countries and America are having problems with these people that we are at war with. This war that we are fighting is a religious war for these people that don’t care if they live or die. These people are willing to run at my brothers screaming allalalalalala with explosives strapped to them self’s and detonate, and we are living with the family of the murders of my brothers. If don’t see a problem with this then your wrong, and don’t try to compare me to a krout.

People should beleive what ever they want, but government should keep seperate from religon. One reason it should stay seperate is people who dont know anything about religon may feel obligated to beleive what ever the majority is beleiving. It is fine to share your beliefs with others if you sincerely beleive it, but dont start contreversy and hate on others who beleive something different.
At Del Oro, I believe that there is alot of christian people. they just don't want show it to their friends cause they are afraid. The Schools and churches should work together to make the kids be ok with expressing there faith to god. The canidates should focus on whats good for America and fixing things.
I LOVE LACY SOHN.
i think the government shouldnt care about any of the other religions base all there belifs off one religion and if people dont like it then they can go to mexico were they dont care. if u want to live in america live under our rules and no one elses.
freedom of religion means that the government cannot and will not fore you to believe any religion nor can they restricit you from followong a religion. The members of government also have that right jsut as much as we do. When a member of government follows a religion it doesn't mean they associate it with their job. It would be wrong to put religious beliefs into their political actions.
Considering the issue of holidays, the government isn't making you follow the religion tied to the holiday, and anyone can take off school for religious events or holidays not on the calender. The christmas tree is not even only a christian symbol. the first christmas tree in history was used by germanic tribes for sacrifice. And christmas is also a pagan holiday in honor of thor. Easter is not only a chiristian holiday im the 1600's, germans used the easter bunny as a symbol of fertility. So it's unfair to say that every holiday is christian.
as for the whitehouse using a christmas tree, that doesnt have anything to do with the government decisions, its just a holiday decoration, unreligious people put up christmas tree's in their homes and it doesnt mean they are christian.
heather miller
I think that freedom of religion means that we have the freedom to choose. The school system works around Christmas and Easter and it does exclude many other religions that don’t participate in the holidays. I think that religion should be kept out of political debates. No one should care what religious values a candidate holds because it shouldn’t affect the way they do their job.
1. Religion should be kept out of politics. Unless their religion will keep them from doing their job well it shouldn’t matter. Religion is only an issue because we make it one. What ties you have to a church shouldn’t matter.
2. I don’t see why the government should be run by one religion. Over the years and throughout history God has been used as a scapegoat. Before America was founded the English Monarchy system ran based on religion. Whatever religion the king wanted to be was what England was and if they didn’t stick to the King’s religion then they were killed. America was given freedom of religion so that didn’t happen. It’s why America was founded. As far as minorities go its unfortunate that they don’t get their holidays off, but they have the freedom to be their religion and I think that should be enough.
3. Sure a lot of Del Oro students are not Christian and the school schedule is built around some big Christian holidays but the schools schedule is built on a calendar tradition that has been around for centuries, and it’s not going to change. It is unfortunate that say Jewish students don’t get their days off but what are we going to do about that. If a student of a specific religion wants to get special days for their holidays they can always go to a private school with their religious views. And in reality there are more Mormons here that there are actual Christians.
Under god should NOT be in my opinion be taken out of the pledge of allegiance
And what does it matter if there’s a Christmas tree in the white house?
America's government should not be able to make anyone believe in a certain religon because in sense America is a free country, people have the freedom to belive in what they want. So, probably government and religon should be seperated, so that no more problems. But even if the people in the people in the government are christain they should still be able to celebrate all the differnet holidays, no one should have to get angry because of what they celebrate.
Stop brakk HUSSIAN obama
I think the goverment should keep the religion and govermemnt seperate.and i think that there are too many religions to be able 2 please all there holidays...so we should take a lil outa each religion and celebrate them
freedom of religion should be able to be express by everyone. When it comes to the governerment they should be able to listen to what other religions have to say. we are a free country. There is many differnt religions and the should be able to express there belives. The way that the presidential candidates use their belives to gain votes is not right beacuse not everyone is the same religion. they should express their opain by a differnt way.
Raquel Patocs-Tercero
here in america there is a big diversity of religions, so i think that the govrnment shouldn't remark what religion it has because many people can be offended.
it is true that in this country each one can think how they want but the goverment is like all people who lives in eeuu
Freedom. The number one reason why people move to America. Freedom of choice, speech, press, and religion. The definion of religion is a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe. People believe in different things and ways. If someone has been told their whole life what to believe, and how to believe it, and no one told you why, just do it. Why wouldn't you want to move somewhere when you can choose to believe what you want. "O'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave". Repeated four time in four verses of the Star Spangled Banner. Scheduals being mainly around Chirstian belifs is convinient considering that 25-45% of Americans are Christian. People don't have to celibrate holidays if they don't want to. No one should be forced into believing in something or someone. Religion to me is more than just believing, it's knowing, and self discovery of who you are. You can't force that.
no one should be tied to one thing over an other. so keep 2 todally things apart. but that doesnt mean that they cant have religion in office everyone is entitled to there own opinion.

ok adam im not gonna say ur wrong about the muslims but the ones that were already here are american they came here to get away from the situation they were in. i dont think they should be allowed to come over ne more but i dont think that the old ones should be deported but i dont see how much relavince it has to the topic were commenting on
Every citizen living in America has the right to live here. Just because they are a different religion than the majority doesn't mean we have to cart them out to a country where they are the majority.
The government and religion should stay seperate. If the government trys to force religion on people who don't want it, or those who believe in something else, it would just turn into choas. You can't tell people what to believe in. You can however share with them what you believe in, and they can toss it or think about it. To understand where you, or they come from. I personally love learning about other cultures, and hearing what they do on holidays and why. Religion is one of the few things that make people who there are. Makes them unique. The Government should protect us and our right, not tell or force us how to live them.

i do see what you mean about this beign a religious war but i thought it was more of a gas war then anything else so there i think you have a faliure to realize what the u.s is really foinf as far as suicide bombers you do seem to have a point i dont like that they are running at our brothers either but hey do stuff happensall we can do is try to shoot them first.
All types of cultures and people combine to create one nation. A nation that has many different cultures from all around the world while still including freedom, which other countries cannot come close to or be compared to. But as our country seems to develop and become more diverse we seem to have more and more problems. Problems in which you can not seem to solve. Problems that always are questioned by a certain group of people, a certain religion, or maybe a single family. As America progresses we can never settle for a happy median so everything to everyone is fair. I have two outlooks on which religion can play a role in America. First, as our fore fathers founded America and built a system in which anyone could come and have any sort of freedom. Could practice anything that they pleased, escape the hard ships of their life, or simply put just start over . I personally think that as our nation developed, our concrete base was built upon the belief in god so therefore i think that people shouldn’t complain whether or not god is in the pledge of allegiance. They have the freedom to believe in what they believe in and no one seems to be stopping other religions so then why should they stop the belief that started America? If they really wanted holidays off then just go back from where they came from. No offense to any one i know its kind of mean sorry.
I agree with Adam olson all the way, i feel the same way about the whole idea.
-Sarah W
America is a place where people come to "get away" or to come live the "American Dream". These people come from all around the world to america to see and live many things. America is a big thing for the people because of its freedom and everyone wants to live in a free enviroment and believe in the things that they want to believe in...
I agree greatly with justin neighbur. In America you should be able to practice any religion you want, its a free country and we have freedom or religion. He also brings up a good point about the presidents getting herrased by people for putting up a christmas tree in the white house. He lives there why shouldn't he be able to practice his holiday in his home. That doesn't mean it has to interfere with his job or affect the decisions he makes for our country.
I agree with Scott Lee about how people come to America from all over the world to be free thats what America is all about is for everyone in this country is free and to wat they want as long as they do not break any of the laws.
I agree with Carlee becuase some one will always have some sort of problem with what the government is doin reguardless of what everyone thinks or wants to do, nobody ever all agree on one thing or another so, theres not much to do or say
Some people in america think we should exclude certain religous beliefs and some don't have the same thoughts but in the long run i think people won't care anymore
-Antonio Gutierrez
ok i still believe that it doesnt matter so every other idea isnt a big deal it DOESNT MATTER
by the time the government colapses we will all be dead
Some people think we should exclude religion completely from schools and the Whitehouse. Others are saying that in the long run it's not going to matter which holiday’s are schools give us time off for. To an extent I think both are true. If you don't celebrate Christmas in your religion that's fine, take the initiative to not call it Christmas break and celebrate whatever it is that you do. Like other people said Christianity is the religion most people in our country follow but if you don't it's still okay because we do have freedom of religion. Although, you can believe in whatever you want I don't think people should complain about the small things in life like having a Christmas tree in the Whitehouse. If the day comes that we have a Buddhist president he can build a statue of Buddha in the there but until then we should just leave everything the way it is. Nobody is forcing everyone else to be a Christian, they can still go home at the end of the day and celebrate what they want. Christianity was one of the main religions of America from the beginning just like how the Pledge of Allegiance was created a long time ago so why should we have to change it now?
kelsey pickard
I agree with Chris when he said"But even if the people in the government are christain they should still be able to celebrate all the differnet holidays, no one should have to get angry because of what they celebrate." They should just be open to any religion and nobody she be prejudice against one another.
I agree with Carlee becuase America should be a place where people can come a live free. We are on of the only countries that can do that. I also believe people should be able to believe in whatever they want.
I think that obertteen says it how it is.Are country is so diverse that we can not accomadate every religion and what not.The way things are ran now are good enough for me!
Carlee is so smart. And with being so smart I totally agree with us being free and in believing what not only what we want but really believe.
Overall I think the way it is currently is fine because like other people said you can't please evveryone. In America people have freedom of religion which is good. I don't think you should believe in something just because your supposed to, however it has been the same way for a long time so I think it would probably be difficult to convince the majority of people to want to change it now.
my personal sins are if i am asked a question like did you do your homework or where were you or sertain things like that... i just cant lie... i dont like to lie, but i do. i also hate seeing homeless people, i dont always want to help but i feel horrable when i see them
above is JOHN SKARR
like everyone has been say i feel that is right. Why should you just celebrate your religion and not the others? it wouldnt be fair if they just celebrated their religion and not ours, you would also say its unfair. so what i think its better if they celebrated a liltle b it of each holiday in each religion. but for the government to stay out as possible out of religion because government and religion shouldnt be combined
my personal sins are i cant walk by a homeless person on the street without giving them some change or money. If i dont i feel guilty all day. Im sure many people would argue that its a choice for them to be there but i still cant just walk by and pretend to ignore them. If you listen to Phil Collins song "Another Day In Paradise" you might see what i mean. Another personal sin to me is to help old people if I see them. For example, if i see an old man at the grocery store who is having trouble with his cart or whatever then i feel like i should help him because he has been around a lot longer than me and deserves that kind of respect. Those are two examples of my personal Sins.
Personal sins...gosh where do I start...I cant not help people...Everything I do is revolved around helping people...Because of this not gaining personal success is a sin to me...I believe that God gave me gifts that I need to use to be success full...for example I am a pilot...I have been for 6 years...I fly so I can be a MAF(Missionary Aviation Fellowship)...I hope to be flying around in Africa helping as many people as I can...Flying aint cheap so I find ways to work...I am gifted with finding ways to work so I found ACN...Because of ACN I have set a goal to have $1,000,000 in the bank before 1 March 2011...One of the reasons I want to achieve this financial goal so bad is I want to build a Hospital in Kenya...I also want to fund Doctors and Medicine...I just think of how many lives I will save...I visualize the day when i will hand over the check...another personal sin is not managing my money properly...I have been given the tools to make money and the money is hard earned...if I dont manage my money properly then it gets waisted...so what I do is every month when I get my pay check I give 10% back to my maker...i put 10% into long term savings, 10% into expenses, 10% in taxes, then 40% I save for my Africa fund or I invest for Africa, the last 10% of the money I go out and blow...if I dont do this I cant live with my self...what I am doing is setting myself up for being able to support a family and a church...If I dont think like this I am committing a personal sin...on top of this I follow the 10

Adam Schoof you spelt Kraut wrong, and also it's Barack Hussain Obama. I think That everyone is entitled to their own religion including the Atheist but everone thinks that Atheism is in fact a religion in all aspects. What I hate the most is when other religions think that Atheism is not a religion so they try to ban the teaching of evolution in schools. If they don't want to learn about evolution that much they can go to a religious schools and leave the Atheist and Unitarians ALONE!!!
